This article contains information of the Muharram
procession (juloos) of Amroha of 6th Muharram.
The
procession (juloos) of 6th Muharram starts from Imambara Nuran. This Imambara was
constructed by Musammat Nuran about 213 year ago (this is
including the year when this article is being penned). Musammat Nuran was a
resident of present day Delhi. She was spiritually ordered to migrate to
Amroha, where she established Imambara / Azakhana Nuran in 1222 Hijri to celebrate Muharram in the
coming years.

The
procession (juloos) of 6th Muharram has following symbolic articles
beside the common camels and other articles which are to be found with the
regular Muharram processions of Amroha. Unique feature of the procession of 6th
Muharram is a shed of cloth which is carried on the Taboot and Zuljana. The
Taboot of 6th Muharram has many miraculous abilities which has many
stories related to this.

This
procession (juloos) covers route of 16.5 kilometers which is
within the city of Amroha. Behind the Zuljana the people recite Daura (Shaheed-E-Karbala;
Husain). First five or six lines recite the first line and the rest of the
people a part of the procession (juloos) answer by saying Husain…Husain…Husain.
